Yarra Bream

Post by Fish-Hunter » Mon Sep 21, 2015 10:33 am

I went for a Bream session at the Yarra river, location was not far up from the "tennis centre" i was using live earth worms for bait. I caught one undersize Bream (27cm) which i returned unharmed & i dropped another two lip hooked fish, later i caught three good solid Bream (32cm, 35cm, 37cm) prior to dark, but once darkness fell the fish went off the bite or moved on.

The Bream were mouthing the baits, they were in no hurry to swallow the bait down "timid" & they had a preference to soft baits e.g earth worms & totally ignored the small fresh water yabbies (this is typical of pre spawing Bream) in my opinion.

I am using the -
Product Code : BLB862BTRL
Product Name : SHIMANO BUSHY LEGEND BAIT SERIES - 862 BAITRUNNER SPIN ROD

Great Bream rods for bait fishing, they have a nice taper & are very well suited to bait Bream fishing locally.

Agreed but I gotta say the lower end is a very under fished fishery! And from what I've heard despite what u can see rubbish wise it's apparently pretty healthy.

Freshwater section is probably hit a bit more but even then some bends are virtually untouched
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!
