I would buy the Shimano Sedona 2500FE Spin Pack for $99 at BCF  Keep the reel & sell the rod for $40-$50 to spend on other gear

Mate, I reckon you can pick up a ABU Veritas coulped with an ABU ORI, which is head and heals above the others recomended, the ori reel has full graphite drag system and is a delight to use

Only problem with that is nobody wants those rods for that price. I believe a/few member has already been down that path and are yet to sell the rod still..

Ah well. I've found a Quantum Smoke SL10PTI for $135, is that a good reel at that price point?

Re: Can anyone recommend a bream/trout combo under $150
I'm not sure about those reels. Never played with them yet.
If u were you I'd look at the okuma signature spin on sale for $99 down from $199. At anaconda
It's got lifetime warranty. Is graphite body And looks pretty cool.
Not sure how heavy they are and what sizing ate available. Go have alook at them and see if you like them
CA is also having a sale so look there too.
Cheers
