Can anyone recommend a bream/trout combo under $150
I've decided that my 2-4kg rods lack the sensitivity for getting the most out of soft plastics and the reels I have aren't really designed for that sort of thing either (nothing under 4000 size) so I'm looking for something in the 7' 1-3kg 2-8g lure weight and a 1000-2000 size reel.
I saw Sneaky Fisho have this ( http://www.sneakyfisho.com/shimano-syme ... combo.html ) but with postage it's a bit over budget and the rod is a little short for me as I want to be able to reach over the bow of the kayak if something decides to run underneath it.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm happy to buy one second hand if anyone has a combo that isn't seeing much use. Bonus points if it comes with a set of heels
Cheers
Ian

Daiwa megaforce 1-3 rod $50 then buy a half decent 1000 reel or a 2500 off gumtree there are a few there

If you can find one for a good price the pflueger trion's 702ULS is a cracking rod but they've recently put the price up on them but there is still a few kicking around cheap

I used a Shimano Starlo Classix 662 Ultra Light Spin paired with a Sienna for a long time and it never let me down, should be in your price range

Also check out the Shakespeare slingshot. Top rods for not much $. Sneaky have a sienna 1000 for $38 as well.

Re: Can anyone recommend a bream/trout combo under $150
catana with a 1000 or 2500 sienna would be my pick for that price.
or look for a used generation black itchy twitchy and buy a sienna to go on it.
the gen blacks are far superior to the catanas.
also seen on the CA catalogue some new shimano plastics rod, might be worth a look, also their cranx rods are not too bad.(bit noodlish for me though)
if you can afford it then bcf had the Gloomis rods for sale at $150. they are also a good rod but you will need to wait and buy the reel later if $$ is tight.
another option is to buy the okuma graphite reel on sale at anaconda atm for $99 then find a rod to suit leftover budget (berkley exponent I think is around $70)
few options there to get you going
