fishing for Bream @ Werribiee South
Last Sat afternoon I went with my Son for fishing for Bream @ Werribiee South for a quick session … it was his session and I was just helping him in sorting things out, and this young monster has caught this wonderful bream, 42 cm over 3 pounds, he caught it on a very light tackle, after a good fight he managed to bring it into the landing net.
It was not only fishing but also a very good quality time with my Son

Quality bream mate! I had no idea you had a son. Actually, I thought you were quite young, for some reason I pictured you as a teenager or early twenty's. Younger than me anyhow.

Did you catch any others or just that one? Thinking of heading out there this weekend if weather permits and I'm feeling alright (just came down with a chest infection today).

He also landed 5 or 6 Mullets between 20 - 22 cm each, but all left back, and he lost another smaller size Bream from the hook just before landing it.

Congratulations to you and your son Andoki, A great father son experience, that will surely be something you both will have fond memories of.
Looking forward to getting down to Werribee hopefully this weekend or will try around footscray again for some bream myself.
Could you advise what bait you used, as I was looking at using bass yabbies myself, which seem to work well down footscay.
Cheers
Straughany

Thank you Straughany ... it is indeed a great time with my Son ... we usually go fishing together most of the times and we both love it and found it very interesting to chitchatting while fishing .
Yabbies and worms are always crackers for Bream I highly recommend them both … we also tried small pieces of chicken and it worked not bad too, but the problem with Bream is that they are very picky sometimes, so you need to have different baits with you and try them all until you find which one the prefer on that day.
I found Werribiee is overcrowded in the weekends and public holidays , as someone said before too many anglers and very less fish, if you want to go there and to enjoy your fishing session I recommend to go either very early or after dark or some other days than weekends.
Good luck
