Crab lures

Post by sloth » Thu Sep 04, 2014 1:44 pm

Had a good quick session using crab lures. Picked up a juvenile on the cranka crab

Then tried the newish marukyu crabs which are a bio-bait/lure. This allowed me to throw the lure deeper into snags than I would with the cranka. This really paid off and although not large this bream was in great condition and gave one hell of a fight in tight cover. One of the best fights I've had for a while.

Crab was inhaled ...

Thought it would be bigger given the fight but really nice condition

All released for someone else to catch

Good catches, well done, got to get a couple of those lures in the tackle box at some stage.

I cannot track these Marukyu Crabs down anywhere in store, where about did you grab them from?

I've only got 2 cranka's left, so not too keen on throwing them into nasty places atm!!

Rigged them on a Gamakatsu 211 1/32 jighead. Just straight in at the back, down the middle and out between the eyes.

Going to try rigging it flat and to the side next time - see if I can get a hookup in the corner of the mouth
