I bought a cheap telescopic rod. Fits in the work bag and it's sufficient for breamin the docks as there's really no need to cast. Allows a quick session pre or post work

Thanks sloth, I'll have to look into a telescopic rod. I think I found the post that Abuthen referred to. Time and weather permitting I might take a walk to Central pier to have a look around and maybe talk to people who are fishing.

Hey mate
I used swivel for running sinker to stop the ez slider
But double uni to join braid/mono to fluorocarbon/leader for jigging or paternoster
Used to always run swivel but looks up uni to uni on YouTube strong small knot that will run through the
Guides of rod when casting

With all due respect 4lb is strong enough for the main line, especially if its 4lb power pro etc. as they break a bit higher than stated, just make sure you test your leader connection knot. 4lb leader at the docks is doable but really only when it's ultra clear and the bream are spooky, requires quite a bit of good rod work. Personally i start with 6 and move from there based on conditions and how they're feeding.
