mordialloc pier

Post by vinhii » Mon Sep 26, 2011 3:08 am

So it was a awesome sunny day today! so decided to venture out with the missus to mordialloc pier and try our luck.

Got there around 5pm.. and threw a line in to try my luck... after 5-10mins got a snap at the line but lost it trying to get it up so no clue what it was...

Very quiet for fishing.. not much happening there as i spoke to afew people that were there way before me..
Did meet some friendly people though.. had a good chit chat..

There was also a guy on a yak that got told off by the older gentlemen next to me lol.. so that was entertaining :P :haha2:

Strange, I heard a report that the Salmon were on fire over the weekend, from this very pier.

The bay seems to be going quiet again.

salmon is not really firing. There are occassional catches on SP but you need to work hard to get them.

You will catch the first one once your casting arm is already a centimeter longer than the other.

i went down to the peir last night, from 5:30-9 a few blokes chasing snapper but no luck there. managed to land 13 gars and lost 4. decided to put out a soft plastic plenty of nibbles but nothing sizable to get a hook-up. pretty happy considering i didnt expect to catch anything

also i did see 1 ink stain on the peir, pretty close to shore near a grass bed
