Dunno where you're located but the compleat angler Easter sale is on either this week or next. I can't remember the date that the flyer said. But they have shimano jigs for $16-17. Get the white keimura in 3-3.5. Dynamite jig even for beginners.

They don't look too bad at all for the money. Definitely worth a crack. How do they sink FC? Nose down hard or nice and horizontal?

When your jig loss rate goes to one every few sessions or ten or so jigs from Japan @$9 ea and use the good stuff. Until then if you're on a budget those cheapies look pretty good.

Names to keep an eye out that are good. Shimano, emeraldas, yamashita, haramitsu, evergreen, duel (yozuri), megabass.

Avoid IKA, Matsumoto and a few others with Japanese names that are just knockoffs.

Squid fishing isnt a art , but you can make into one if one likes . Get some Yozuri style prawns jig as mentioned in earlier posts , get casting & the results will come . ;)

Hi guys first post looks like I have found the forum I needed too :a_goodjob:

Ive moved from brissie to melbourne and looking to get my first fishing session under way, only brought my licence 9 months ago :icon_lolz: , and its going to be squid! I used to fish off the jettys in brissie 10 or so years ago but alot has changed! And victorian squid are so much bigger!

I was going to hit up half moon bay jetty one night for my first foray into vic squidding is it worth while or is there somewhere better?

Cheer guys
