Black Rock Session 10/2/13

Post by Linc » Sun Feb 10, 2013 7:03 pm

Arrived at Black Rock around 9 this morning. Wind was pretty rough so we weren't expecting a very enjoyable day. Anchored up in 6 meters of water, dropped the light rods over the side and *bang* first pinky @33cm landed within seconds of dropping a line in. It was pretty much like that for the next 90 mins with all four of us onboard landed fish after fish. About as many throw backs as keepers but a 50/50 ratio is not too bad, especially when the undersize models still fight the way pinkies do!

With a few trevally, a 42cm flatty and 3 very nice whiting (largest @ 43cm) thrown in we had a fantastic day.

Baits varied, they didn't favour one over the other but pilchard was probably the most consistent.

It's sitting between a 43 and 39cm, hence it looks like a baby. Definitely over 28cm.
