SP Session

Post by Delirium » Sat Mar 18, 2017 9:20 pm

With near perfect weather and good clean water, thought it might be a good day to throw some plastic around.

Started with an early run out to some wider marks to make sure there wasn't any good reds hiding out there

Only a heap of these guys around

So after feeding all my bait to them, headed back in close to see what might eat my favourite pink plastics.

Also managed a couple of 'self-releasing' pinkies........and then these guys showed up again and ate everything that went near the water.

Fun day.

Cheers Ian

That's a pretty good session, I wish I had the confidence with SPs to head out with just them and catch a bunch of fish

Those salmon would have been fun, we came across a pretty big bust-up off Cowes today but I only really had the 10-15kg kingfish rod which took some of the fun out of it

Yeah, the little Wilson rod I have been using is at it's limit with them.....but damn it's fun.

Nice work mate, plastic too big for pinkies that size though, if you want to have fun try going to 3 inch..

once you get the hang of it mate its quite rewarding and fun. i havent take any bait on my boat the last few years, except now if dad is coming along.
if you get desperate theres always some squid you can catch to use as bait.

Yeah, I tend to keep them bigger when throwing them for flathead up against the shoreline for a couple of reason. The main one being that it tends to stop the puffers biting the tails off them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Agreed. I actually wish they would not put that cr**py scented stuff on them. I'm certain it only attracts the rubbish fish to them when you are too slow getting them moving after casting. The sort of fish I target with them are all about the visual part of it. Maybe I could wash them first
