So after a few unsuccessful cracks on bait for the old pagrus aurutus I thought I would revert back to more familiar territory to get some confidence up. So went out for a go on plastics this morning before work. Launched at 5am at rickets point.
After following some tips from on here, I got the sounder tuned up nicely. Found plenty of schools of fish like below. Spend a couple of hours sounding schools and then drifting back over throwing some 4 Inch nemesis plastics. Also sounded up some bigger solo arches and in clusters of two-three but couldn't get any bigger models to fire up.
Landed around 10 pinkies to 40cm and a couple of snook. Lost a good 3.5kg fish at the boat when it decided to make a dart for the drogue and pinged me off.
Gonna head out again tonight for another dip!
