yep that was me and my verry intelligent decision to fish 6lb around mussel encrusted pylons at an impossible angle. it was just a plastic though. no biggie.

Anyone been down to the pier recently? Going to head down Friday sometime with the old man to see if there's any action. Never fished there before but it has a good reputation. Happy to catch anything, and collecting bait for future surf sessions is always a bonus :thumbsup:

Hey mate mordialoc is right best to black rock and Ricketts point an those areas are fully of pinkies atm, so you might get pinkies and gar fish is around as well.

Used to get tonnes of gars from that pier. Bagged out many times. There should be some salmons around as well! Good luck :)

plenty of squid over the reef nearly always catch them there

I have seen them catching them just 1/3 of the way up on the right hand side.

I<ve been walking along this pier at around !11am every Friday for the last two years and I,ve only seen two decent fish caught in the last two weeks. One was a 40cm flathead and the other a one kilo salmon, both on days when the tide was in and it was cold and windy.
