Very nice, I'm also quite jealous, I used to always bring a big rod out with me as well as my gar rods to Mordi just in case and never had a bite...well except for one time by a starfish lol. Good work mate

Re: My 3rd go at Mordy Pier
thanks guys im very happy that i caught it too
went around 10. small bites only till about 1pm nearly took my rod with it. Used pilchard as bait.
We should all go somewhere so we could have some newbie session since none of the "pro" tells us spots.. we just got to find them No offence just some humor
regards
Terence

From the pictures, they are aussie salmon mate ... good catch fido
Just a small advise for next time, for better taste if you are going to eat them you will need to bleed them as soon as you catch them.
Cheers

Nice catch man! Those would be Australian salmon, herring (the small size ones I've ever caught) have more of a brown colour and have a bit more prominent stripes and are rough when u rub them. As for brown trout...pretty sure they only reside in freshwater...
Did you catch them with lures or bait?

Here's the pics to see the difference between the 2, careful cos salmon there is a size limit whereas on the tommy rough there isn't any.

On bait, its like a frenzy feeding. went there at 7am. throw my first line in with 2 hooks then wanted to fix my 2nd rod and it just keep striking. so i got like 8 in 30 mins. Then it went dead.cotte wrote:Nice catch man!
