Mordialloc pier.

Post by Talha » Tue May 22, 2012 1:05 pm

Went down to mordialloc pier last night. I've heard from quite a few sources that theres a decent chance for salmon off the pier. High tide was supposed to be at 2:43am so me and a mate got there at about 1:00am. We cast out a rod each with bait, and i starting flicking out a lure. We chopped up a couple pilchards every 30/45 minutes as burley. But not even a distinct bite. By 3:30am my mate had enough of the cold, he wasnt rugged up enough. Oh well, guess it just wasnt my day.

Well the plan was to head off to gunnamatta or somewhere near that if we weren't satisfied at mordialloc. But ot was "too cold" for my friend.

hi vinhii ... I was following some of your previous posts before, and I knew that you are a big fan of Gay fishing .... may I ask you why you go for fishing for Gar in such cold nights while you can catch them all day around? unless you were targeting something else at night ... I don't think Gar is that type of fish that feed only after or before sun, isn't?

Salmon are generally(very few exceptions) easier to catch during daylight hours(or dusk and dawn) than at night. I could count the number of salmon Ive caught in complete darkness on my hands! Cant recall how many thousand Ive caught during the day.
When I got time,
I wet a line cos Im a junkie,
been fishin since a kid,
I like it cos it numbs me..
