Anyone think it'll be useful off the pier or should I just stick to Patto/Mordi Creek with it?

Will it catch much outside of bream?
I can't see why a pinkie wouldn't take it, haven't actually tried myself though.

Chuck your crab just outside the mouth of the creek under the jetty on a rough day. The bream like to hide there near the rocks.

I was there an hour before sunset till just after. Lots of bait around and gulls picking them off. Had a school of barely legal salmon also follow my metal. Decent size school

went there for 2 hours today 4-6pm, got nothing...and a broken reel on my surf rod :wall:
did see a bloody massive stingray hovering around though, probably half the reason there was no fish around.
