Mordy Pier - sat evening

It's not too bad out here right now. A small breeze and not too choppy.
I still bet on catching SFA as no one else seems to be dragging them in.

As predicted we didn't even get a nibble. Good thing I like just sitting there listening to music and pondering .. stuff. Did see an Eel though ... swimming in the water ...

if some one shat that I would send them to a doctor !!
It was about 60-70cm long, someone was shining a torch on it. The only sign of life in the water ...

I saw one swimming while I was at Mornington pier on Saturday afternoon and I managed to hook it in the tail with my soft plastic.

It even took some drag

Not my idea of a feed haha. I would much rather use the eel for bait.

Hopefully the eel entices a gummy!

Bit of luck tonight. We got there just as a run of pinkies was on. Got one pretty quickly with some people reeling in a few in quick succession. Then it went dead. Still, I got one pinkie and that's one more than usual.
We were near a group that got a few strikes but as soon as the guy stepped in to help his wife/girlfriend or son to reel it in the line broke. This happened 3 times. Might be time to review the gear I think !
Anyway, it went dead as soon as itr got dark so we waited another hour and then bailed.
