Brighton Breakwall 7-2-13, 48cm Flathead.

Post by nhillboy » Fri Feb 08, 2013 9:47 am

Left work early and headed to the Breakwall and fished through low tide 4pm to 10pm. Wind was fresh but water not as choppy as i thought it would be. Forecast was for 15-20 knot Southerly. Had a few bites on and off but overall quiet. Had a whiting set up out but no real action on it. All action was on 1 surf rod landing 1 pinky 26cm and 1 trevally 24cm both released. Keepers were 1 pinky 28cm, 1 flathead 34cm and one monster mutha f@#ker at 48cm. Old greek bloke next to me got 1 flathead 40cm and 1 very nice bright red pinky at 38cm. Overall a good session considering the conditions. Pilchard was my main bait hit, calamari not touched and blue bait some hits. Old bloke was using pilchards and chicken breast.....Went home happy with an equal PB flathead.....
** Between 6.30 to 7.30pm water did get nice and choppy and most fish action took place in this time.**

Haha well done nhillboy  you walked past me at my usual spot and told me that you had caught a monster flathead. I also thought it was going to be choppy we're did the wind go? When you walked past I had caught one pinky @29cm then caught another one at 32cm later on.

Ha ha ha, i was going to ask you if you were Raul but you looked different without your beanie lol...
Nice catch, you doing ok at that spot. Yep, me too was disappointed with the non choppy water. It was windy enough at times but the water wasn't that rough.
Cheers and good luck Joey, Raco and Bear hope you get on to some.

tried this location last night after about 5 years of ignoring it. By the looks of it, I need to erase this location off my fishing map for another 50 years. Nice to meet up with Raco and FishingVic. Could have been better if there was any action.
