had a quick fish today as i arrived at the pier there were some from what i could tell feeding but they were more slurping than there normal frantic way had a cast but no luck headed to the rocks bang 1st cast on it put on a great fight but a dirty fight trying to cut me off on the rocks 1 did oh well and i drop the biggest one i caught on the rocks and back into the water i got a few looks on the way back to the car as i had blood on my jeans from cutting there necks the fishing was so much fun

these were all caught a max 1 meter from the rocks so you could actually see them hit the soft plastic

the best went 911grams the one i dropped would have been over a kilo

matched the hatch this is what they were feeding on after a hour the salmon moved down the rocks but i had enough for salmon patties so 4 was plenty i was using a shimano nano impact nt 1-4kg shimano stradic2500 fk 6lb braid 10lb leader 1/8 jighead i find this to be a awesome setup the salmon put a great buckle in the rod and there,s nothing like the sound of braid coming off a reel

Same at geelong few weeks back, would cast a surface lure n they would smash it just b4 the rocks.

yep all on soft plastics thats why i put the pic of what they had in there stomach and the soft plastic i was using , it was a squidgy fish silver fox is a great soft plastic to use they are get smashed up pretty easy but at $6-$7 bucks a pack all good i only used 3 yesterday and the salmon patties were awesome (on a side note the squidgies makers need to lift there game i have noticed the black on the lure peels off easy in the water none of there others do )
