Brighton Pier 10/12/2016

Post by wem21 » Sun Dec 11, 2016 8:19 am

Hello guys,
Yesterday I went over to Brighton breakwall when I had a
2hour space of free time. I got there at about 5PM, when the tide was low and because my bait was rotten, I flicked some SP`s around.
I went up to the point of the breakwall and back using the lift, wind, pause technique. Then, my mate turned up, using soft plastics aswell. He showed me this weird technique and it felt so uncoordinated. It's basically the egi technique, but when you are jerking the Rod, you don't wind in at the same time. Also, you put 0.5 second gaps inbetween each of the 6-7 flick before letting it sink, pausing and repeating.
I was now in the shallows, where the baths were but casting towards the marina in 1m of water.

On my second cast(I did three every 7m), I flicked my Rod and thought that I had caught a reef! Then it started ripping line. I landed a 40cm Flathead. SO HAPPY   I checked on my mate, who had caught a 47cm at the very tip of the breakwall, he released as it would have babies :P

Awesome day, so thrilled at my first flattie! I was using Zman 3" MinnowZ in the Pearl/Blue Glimmer colour with 1/4oz TT jighead. Using the technique my mate explained.

Tight Lines, Remus
