brighton breakwall live report

Post by nick » Sun Sep 28, 2014 9:01 pm

just got back from brighton

went for a squid fish but was blowing hard as 30 knots plus. had two casts, plenty of weed and packed up. a guy had just hooked a squid 15 minutes before i got there. i asked him if the jig had weed on it and he said yes.thought you couldnt get squid if jig had weed on it??? (new thread anyone???)

pinkies were on the chew i seen a local with quite a few maybe six or 7 and spoke to a few that said they had a few too.

most of the action was from the baths to the marina entrance. look forward to hearing more reports.

fished brighton on friday night for 8 squid and dropped a few nothing too big 1.55 kg for total bag. used a 3 for $12 ebay jig in a green with red body lumo

good luck everyone

i've caught squid with a heap of grass on the jig. But a clean jig will get more. depends if they're hungry or not

the fish were caught all along the pier and they were casting on the open water side.

as it was a strong northerly it would have been very hard to fish the marina side you could hardly tell if you had a bite the rods were shaking that much

there were only a few guys fishing the closed side of the fence.

Is there an estimated time when the break wall will be open again?
