Surprisingly, I will be able to resist :) I have about 28 of them already! A good sized lure for 'largish' trout if you fish rivers with a bit of depth (read more than 10cm). A great price here.
thanks

There are a lot more competent freshwater anglers on here now garfish. Thanks for the kind words anyway. I have never fished there but if you do a search you will find it gets a mention a fair few times! From what I have heard, weed can be an issue. All I would say is in this colder weather, trout would be a good target for you there and you may pick up Redfin as well. If you choose to use lures, probably look at cheaper ones such as spinners or whatever gets a mention here. The Rapala's mentioned on this thread are a great buy but are possibly aimed at larger fish on average. I am sure you will find some info on this site.
thanks

Any particular colour out of those 3 you'd suggest for a place like eildon?

Fishing deep water is not my forte but at that price, I would try the 'Special' (which I believe is a discontinued 'Muddler' pattern)and the Golden Alburnus.

For fresh a lure color guide that some follow is: Sunny day clear water, - something flashy like silver, Cloudy day, clear water, - natural colors (which I believe the two fit into), Dirty water - something bright like Firetiger. Working at depth I am not sure how applicable this is! Blue may hold it's color at depth from memory.

Just keep in mind, these lures will not dive too deep anyway so if you want some down deep, downriggers will be required or whatever you boating people use!
thanks
