4 stroke is basically a small car motor, so its essentially rebranded engine oil id say, but still for that price its a steal.
i do know they make 2 stroke oil so ill have a look tommorow if i get a chance as i need some soon myself..

I been using it for a while now since i bought 4 bottles when on special at bcf a year or so ago for both boats.
Cant really vouch for the smell issue but then dont pay that much attention to it.

I didnt know oil changes exhaust smell changes when it burns up in engine.

Ill start the boat up and see if i can smell the difference.
But is it worth the price difference just for a little smell difference?

Been using it in thw mower, whipper snipper and chain saw with out any issues.
Who else does this?
