The only really good sale I've been to at Ray's was when the local store closed down and sold everything off at half price.

I got my two favourite whiting rods at one of those. $15 marked down from $90. I regret not buying more, that Tournament brand they sold were very good I thought.

Yeah I didn't get there quick enough for the nice rods and reels but picked up two of the good Gotcha lead burley cages with the H/D stainless mesh for $25ea, much better than the rogue ones. I'd been wanting one for ages but they're ridiculously expensive.

by chance i went into rays on bell st preston the other day and they were getting rid of all there fishing gear for peanuts. nothing much was left.

Apparently rays isn't stocking fishing gear anymore. the manager said they were selling what they could and returning the rest to the suppliers.

I might have to pay them closer attention and see if the ones near me start doing the same.

I noticed the same thing - if you get on their website the fishing gear is no longer on the main page.

Keep an eye out for some genuinely cheap gear in the next few months...
