7 gill's
hey guys got out last night at lagoon for not a touch on the big baits but the 1 small rod did get a fat little pinky what made great breakfast :dinner:. can anyone help me I rember a meeting a few member down their last year when they where on just can not rember dates any help would be great I just want to land one after so many failed hook up last year.
where is the calamari ............. don't worry they coming ........ they will come

What's the benefit of targeting gillers? They are sloth like creatures, crappy fighting and can't be eaten. If I were fishing in that area and spending the time soaking baits my target fish would be mulloway...

they will follow the salmon in, once the salmon is thick in north ppb the 7 gillers won't be far behind them.

I didn't question his motives without offering an alternative. If someone was saying they were heading to portsea to target toadies I would ask for his reasons and then suggest a better alternative eg: squid. Gtshoon probably gave the best answer. What other 100kg creature can you target land based. And that's totally fair enough too.
