If its a bronzie/sevengill etc you will need 400m 30lb and min 2m 200lb wire trace. You could possibly get away with 50cm wire trace but if the shark wraps his tail in the line or does death rolls in line you're likely to lose him. You could also try baiting up with large circle on couple metres of 200lb mono trace and pray to gods that he gets lip hooked.

7 gillers in the shallows is like pulling a large sea weed. No fight. All done in less than 10 minutes. Not good.....the ladies will complain if things are over in less than 10. :lolf:

Last year, the 7 gillers were thick in Melbourne city piers - Kerferd Pier, Lagoon Pier, the small pier between St Kilda and the marina.. We catch then on less than a meter of water from the pier, set the hook, free spool, then run to the beach. It was like winching a dead weight. I have not tried this year. I dont eat flake so I dont go after sharks.
OF ALL THE THINGS I LOST, I MISS MY MIND THE MOST.

Shazz, that's a 7 gill in that pick, not a bronzie. Would be an easy 80kg
