Thoughts on this fish filleting table

Post by fishingvic » Thu Jan 12, 2012 2:30 pm

the missus just emailed this fish fillet table to me. It's only $49.99 today, is it worth buying to keep the fish cleaning mess outside?

Now you won’t have to resort to filleting your catch on the top of the chilly bin! This handy table is portable so you can store it on the boat or car, then when you’ve caught your dinner for the day unfold the legs, attach your garden hose to the water faucet and start filleting!

The table top is made of a strong PE plastic which provides an excellent filleting surface. There’s a channel around the outside of the benchtop to stop any water or juices from spilling over the sides, and there’s also a built-in sink with a drainage hole and a tap. This table has multiple uses, not just limited to filleting!

Each sold separately

Portable table with sink and faucet
Removable drain plug
High density polyethylene top – provides strong cutting surface
Powder coated steel legs
Water faucet (tap) can be connected to a 25mm hose connection
Dimensions:
Total: 115cm L x 59cm W x 96cm H
Table thickness: 7cm
Sink inner: 27 x 39 x 7cm
Weight: approx. 9.5kgs

Mr FishVic, I would love one of these BUT, would I use it. I've cleaned fish at home and boy what a mess, so I always at my best effort clean fish at the boat ramps. so much easier.

There have been a few cases where I have cleaned at home, I have an outside sink next to my BBQ so it's OK to do it out there, not so bad but scaling is messing.

Few points, where will your mess drain to, a thought as I type this... I guess attach a garbage bag to the end of the drain plug, that should work but what about the excess water, mmm, I guess you may need to put holes in the bag to drain out????? and then place a large bucket/bin to capture the watered guts. Confused...

????????????? Just my thoughts

No your not going to convince me to buy one...

It all comes down to "Will I use it".

Since I have a boat it's easier at the ramps, if I didn't have a boat then I would probably get one as I wouldn't drive to a ramp just to use the fish clean up spots.

Do it.

looks nice but I found a few FREE cleaning tables near some boat ramps. I may just help myself with one or two of those. :wink1:

Buy one they are great and its only $50, I use to have one down the side of the house where there was a drain hole that all the fish scraps etc would go down there. Then again its up to you if its out of sight and you can get rid of the waste properly.

Looks good, but I take enough crap fishing with me already.

I need to take less stuff when I go fishing or get a bigger car!

I like it - It would be great to mince up all the crap in the bucket and freeze it in chunks for berley :)

Great idea & great value it seems  , there are also many industrial type Stainless steel fish tables / sinks that are available for alot more $$ that a plumber hooks up to your homes drainage system . but am in agreement with George will i use it ?? i try & clean my fish on location & save my house stinking too much as a fish market .
