Enviro nets.

Post by April Fool » Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:36 pm

Hi peoples
I am looking at getting a larger net for cod...yes, rather ambitious of me!!!!!!!! One that I have seen feels rather sturdy. If anyone has used the enviro nets...I assume the netting is durable? Is it a pain in the ar5e for getting hooks stuck in the mesh? Thanks in advance.
Team Bender
Thinks the enviro net will better protect the 'nothing' that I catch!!!!

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

The Berkeley catch and release ones are probably a better option.

Trebles do get caught, but in my opinion they work great for settling a fish after the fight. Have landed many 1m+ up to 1m40cm in the largest size net. I try and get trebles out, let cod rest then get pics. Never had a fish go belly up. However, often the trebles get tangled and need to be removed inside the boat. I recon the net supports big fish better when lifting into the boat, spreads the weight of the fish.

I have a medium sized one now purple. I will be upgrading that to a Rapala brand net which is similar but has about 30 cm's more reach. I am also after a large net. The local store has a large Berkley as well as the enviro. The enviro looks very sturdy in comparison.

As already mentioned, I think the enviro net is also a good base for taking pics. Thanks for the comments.
Cheers
Jim
