saragosa 25000

Post by Nude up » Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:03 pm

With crap weather I have turned my attention to getting ready for next season. One problem I had was a mistake I made when I spooled my saragossa 25000 I forgot to put some masking tape on the spool prior to putting the braid on. Consequently under severe drag the whole spool of braid slipped. The problem how to remove 600 mt of 60lb braid then respool it under drag to keep it tight on the spool.

This is how I removed it.

Got a real workout winding the 600 mt back on.

The finished product

hahaha rookie mistake that one.

i always use backing even if theres a rubber sleeve to tie the braid directly onto.

When I saw the 1st photo I thought you'd invented yourself some sort of ghetto electric reel.....now I'd really like to see you make a ghetto electric reel!(go cordless though)

This method works well for me without backing or tape but I tie a uni instead of an arbor as the initial knot:

I use a Centauri knot works great but still requires the masking or electrical tape.

Any knot can slip it's the alternating hitches after that make it grip.
