the lowrance Higher end models(HDS and Carbon) all have Ethernet ports on them, you can link them all together and share one transducer and have multiple units on the boat showing the same thing/or different if you want.
lots of the expensive bream tournament boats have these as standard.

Would i still be in breach if i had a hand held in my emergancy kit? Or does it have to be mounted?

I can't see where the regs say it has to be mounted so having one on board as part of your safety equipment would seem to comply.

Ok cool ill remove the old one and just keep it in the boat for now.

What do people think about securing strait to the transom?
