hi folks, i'm thinking about spending a $200 ice machine for parties as well as using it for fishing purposes.
Are they worth it, or are they troublesome in the long run?

A smart person knows what to say. A wise person knows whether to say it.

Re: Ice machine
We have one at work, I dunno what it would be worth but I'm estimating it would be worth a bit more than $200. It puts out about 4 bags a day if you are tending to it constantly.
If I didn't have one free for use at work, I would definitely invest in one. It's a beauty, and will save you money long term.

Re: Ice machine
Depend on how many parties you have a year and how many bags of ice you use each time.
When game fishing we were using 1 bag a day for 7 days and if fishing local just use a 2lt frozen bottle and we have 2 partys here a year.
So about 11 bags a year if we go game fishing.
So $200 will buy about 44 bags of ice.
So its worth it if machine will last minimum of more then 5years
