Personally I don't think the police should have released that he was in possesion of Abalone. At the end of the day this bloke had 3 kids who have lost their father and what he was doing was illegal but he has lost his life so I for one say RIP and condolences to his family.

I agree they shouldn't have released that prior to completion of the investigation. A lot of people will just jump to conclusions.

I don't have much respect for anybody that knocks of 30 kg....that's a lot !!

Regardless of the abalone, Paying the price loosing your life is very harsh !.
I would of rather seen the bloke alive, and get a fine , and maybe learn from that.

Someone pointed out on another forum that port Jackson sharks love shellfish. Interesting. Could have been the reason it went the chomp a couple years ago
