Some go back to swim, some come home with me, as my oldest daughter loves to eat fish..

we all do catch and release at some point. I gues no one here in the forum only do 100% C&R.

Nah what for? :dinner:

Just kiddin  it just depends on what I've caught and is it going to be eaten.
I absolutely hate wasting or killing fish if they aren't going to be eaten. I'm not big on freezing fish so I only catch what will be eaten fresh.

That reminds me, a few years back a bunch of us went trout fishing in the river near lake Eildon. I caught a really nice Rainbow Trout about 2.5kg's and thought I'd let it go, but another mate said no he would take it. When we finished I said to him "here you go" and he said he didn't want it. Jeez was I spewing, fortunately another mate said he loved fresh Trout on the Barbie.

I normally keep reddies as they taste great but almost all trout I catch I let go. I think as long as people stick to catch limits then there is no problem if you keep the fish you catch or let them go.

Salt water species I keep to eat. But I release most of the trout I catch in the river.

i dont fish for sport,i fish for myself and my family to get a feed of fresh fish.when i have my bag i pull the pin.i dont keep fishing for the sake of it.how many fish die from anglers catching and releasing fish from being gut hooked or bought to the surface to quick and their swim bladders hanging out their gob.salt water fish i take within the size limit min to max.freshwater only fish for reddies, yellas which will get released over 40cm if in good health, same goes for murraycod only between 60 and 75cm.never used to keep cod over 60 cm when they used to be below 60 cm catch length.but due to their great eating quality and their increased size catch length i now see myself and many freshwater anglers keeping and eating these larger breeders.
