The full saying wind from the east fish bite least , wind from the west fish bite best, wind from the north do not go forth, wind from the south blows bait in your mouth. An old wives tale on all continents I do subscribe to it I definitely find my catch is less when the wind is from the east.
I still catch and I still go out but I believe in the old wives tale. I have tried to have my shifts changed read flexible work arrangements so I only turn up when the wind is over ten knots or coming from the east but it got knocked back, I told them it was for my mental health but the boss laughed at me.
