Sea Lice

Post by denis barden » Sat Apr 06, 2019 2:27 am

Fished at my spot at Indented Heads the other mornin at 0300 to 0600-A week ago I pulled out heaps of whiting from the same spot--No fish but lost heaps of baits-Squid and Mussles to Monster Sea Lice.
Packed up and went to St Leonards spot, more Lice till dawn when they went off and I caught 13 Ting in no time then the Pinkies came in.
Talked to an old fisho down here and he said if there is heaps of Sealice your not going to catch much.
Has any one heard of Sea Lice effecting Whiting Fishing?

If the lice are there I dare say it would affect all fishing.

When snapper or gummy fishing if sea lice are a nuisance we use a small water bomb balloon, blow it up to thumbnail size and pin the rom to the hook after baiting the hook, this lifts the bait off the bottom and baits last pretty well but hard to do for whiting
