They were lucky. I wont fish if I hear thunder. Lightning can strike up to 16km ahead of a storm front. I hear thunder and I pack up and leave.

Its when you don;t hear the thunder you should be worried a lightening strike near you can leave you as deaf as a bat.

Its when you don;t hear the thunder you should be worried a lightening strike near you can leave you as deaf as a bat.
Thought bats had the most advanced hearing of all. I've never heard that saying before. No pun intended.
