Outrigger recommendations
Outrigger recommendations
Would anyone recommend using these outriggers

Or should i save my money and buy a proper set - mainly looking to use them in Portland (Tuna) and perhaps Eden (Marlin).
What are the negatives of using these type of rod outriggers?

Re: Outrigger recommendations
Only spreads lines as long as the rod goes.
So only about 1.8mt.
Not sure if it Can hold big game and outfits or designed for upto 10 to 15kg gear
You have to reach over the side of the boat to get your rod out of holder.
Honestly for game fishing can't go post proper outriggers

Re: Outrigger recommendations
Not sure how big your boat is or what you want to use the riggers for but escapin tackle and solas sell reasonable priced riggers from 3.5 to 4.5 mt. Remember if you are going to run tag lines you will need return weights as well when rigging them up.
Re: Outrigger recommendations
Rod riggers are great. I use them for Kingies. Can’t say about Tuna, Marlin. Just don’t buy the one you are looking at. You want the adjustable ones with ‘lock in’ grooves, manufactured by Franks Marine. Heaps better than the one you’ve shown and you’ll get them at a slightly cheaper price at a tackle store down Cranbourne way.
