What colour mono can I use, from the reel direct to the hook without using a flurocarbon leader
Cheers, Carpie1.

Avoid the hi-vis colors like orange etc. There is/was a red colored mono which was marketed as 'low-vis" which is true if you are fishing deeper water as the color red is one of the first colors to lose its color at depth.

I fish freshwater a bit so when I do use braid...I use mono as leader unless the water is pristine. I don't think fluro leader is that important in many situations when fishing fresh.
Cheers

I like Sufix XL strong in the green as far as freshwater mono fishing goes, good diameter, low memory, cast superbly for a mono. Its gotta be the most common natural colour you'd get in freshwater, that's my thoughts anyway.
I use the one you see in the packet.
