Wanderer Awnings anyone have one?

Post by Boonanza » Wed Dec 26, 2018 5:31 pm

I'm looking at getting one of these Wanderer Awnings 2x2.5m.
Does anyone here have one or something similar any pros or cons?

I haven’t seen the wanderer awning in person, I was going to get one but the side walls were expensive when I was looking (might not be the case now) so I ended up going with one of these:
https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/produc ... -wall.html
I wanted a side wall so it will hopefully create a corner to use the cooker out of the wind.
It’s easy to set up and pack down, will be using it properly for the first time this feb in the high country. I can’t complain for $170. It might also be worth checking out how the length of the awning matches the side of your car with a measuring tape if you haven’t already, mine runs the length from the top corner of the windscreen to the very back of the car.

I have a kings awning on my cruiser with two end walls. I had it up for 6 days at princetown where it was fairly windy. You can see the support arms bend slightly especially the one where the end wall was up. The guys I camped with said theirs do too various brands. To combat this I have bought extendable poles to which I bolted these conduit clips to put in the middle of the support arms.
Kept the rain out great I think any of the awnings will suffer in the wind, the kings awnings are good value.

Good setup nudeup.

I’ve got a darche awning on my car. Every time I’ve swagged it since getting it I couldn’t get the car near. Until last week on a fishing/hunting trip. Slept under the awning in the swag. Was bloody awesome. Definitely looking into a side wall.
