Landbased Game Fishing Victoria
Hi All,
I'm a new member and wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for Land based Game Fishing in Victoria? I live in Geelong so the closer to there the better but i will travel anywhere in Victoria if it means i can my reel scream.
Cheers
Luke

Re: Landbased Game Fishing Victoria
For any success the closest land based game fishing for pelagic's are the NSW ledges, unless your targeting sharks then you may get one of those in Victoria, you need a boat down here to succeed.
Ask Dougie he's been though all this the high's and the low's.

Victoria at this time of the year is nowhere. Even during the warmer months NSW is better. Landbased game is the hardest type of fishing you can do. Long hours few strikes but worthwhile if it pays off. All i can say is good luck. If you are just passing time while you're boat is getting fixed then i would say you're not geared up for lbg. All the best in your quest. :water:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but very few people will tell you where the land based spots are, most are a closely guarded secret that are jealously guarded.fish_onnnnnn wrote:Hi All,

In Vic it is possible to catch an SBT landbased, but that really is a lot of trial and error,

Portland break wall if Tuna are in close enough. Kingfish also in earlier months. Otherwise you're targeting large sharks like Bronzies off piers like point lonsdale or beaches like the 90 mile
