Interesting article what are your thoughts?
Personally I prefer to go fishing and and sporting events without alcohol.

Disgusting and shameful effort from the police. Can't even relax and have a beer while fishing anymore.

Re: Fisherman cops fine for cracking beer
The footage we are seeing of some police these days is not the best. it would make a few people not help them in distress.
We had a no nice motorcycle cop here in town eg all these were regular fines.
Indicator not clicking 6 times for turning.
Asked to move car closer to kerb then done for moving car with no seat belt on and to far from kerb.
Starting car with no seat belt on
Having something over the side on a 6 x 1 trailer
Stopped waiting for a car space to park
The list is endless, a local woman stopped when he was broken down on the side of the road and asked if he would like to put his bike in her trailer. his reply you are being booked for a faulty brake and indicator light.
He was from Nunawading but is no longer here. Apparently he went and crashed in to the back of a hard braking local ute on a lonely country road. Never heard or seen him since he went and spent a fair bit of time in Hospital.

Always take a good look at what you are about to eat. It’s not so important to know what it is .but it’s critical to know what it was.

Re: Fisherman cops fine for cracking beer
The article was scant on detail but I suspect there is no law that specifically prohibits consuming alcohol while fishing.
More likely that the area he was in had a general prohibition on consuming alcohol during certain times, probably as a result of people getting drunk there previously and causing problems. Would have been signs all over the place indicating that.
Still reckon officers could have used their discretion and let him off though, a dude having a quiet beer while fishing is not why drinking was banned.

The media are one sided on a lot of issues

Re: Fisherman cops fine for cracking beer
Dont think this is fishing related. Its simply an alcohol free zone most likely.

Maybe there’s been problems with alcohol in the area previously.
