Thanks for all the suggestions.

I might get in touch with Tackleworld...I dropped a fair bit of coin in their store while I was there so they owe me!

FYI, I live in Patterson Lakes so getting it to either Moe or Bairnsdale still leaves me with a bit of problem but thanks for the offer.

Ring Bobbins, they have a depot in Pambula and a depot in Dandenong and run trucks every night. I use them for freight up the South Coast for work.

They have always been pretty cheap. If you ring Neville in Pambula and explain your situation he might do you a deal?

Packaged up, startrack (owned by Aust post) will pick it up & deliver to your door.
You only need (doing this from memory) length, width & weight.
I put mine in a pvc tube, startrack was only about a $1 more than through the post office
Length won't be a problem.
