I got one of these burka things from bcf, works great: http://www.bcf.com.au/Product/SunProtec ... p/80626002

You can pull them up so only you're only left with an eye hole, so with sunnies you're 100% coved up. Grab one before Pauline Hansen tries to have them banned

Preferably I’m fishing when UV is not at their peak. If I am fishing day hours sunscreen. Got a few long sleeve collared shirts just light blue and khaki.

as above but I always also use some Zink on my nose as I tend to rub sunscreen off - at least I notice the zink or things and remember to reapply it

as for a shirt I use a light fluro work shirt it both covers me and is bright ( be seen be safe )

i use one of those and a hat plus a face mask/buff.
i need to get into the habit of using sunscreen on my face, as thats the only part that gets burnt.
Thanks for the info.

I think the rivers fishing TeX shirt are UPF40 and breathable.

Is you hat and face mask an all in one like this

Can you get a hat/cap with a UPF rating?

Just gave them both a proper try-out...

Raincoat: I'm typically a 'medium' size in jackets and tops, but I went for the large size raincoat, since it give a bit of extra length in the arms and back. I wandered around outside in the rain for about 15 minutes - all good, no leaks!

Plus:
- The hood had a handy 'peak' to keep the rain out of your face
- Waterproof main zip is nifty
- Velcro tabs on the cuffs to seal against wind/rain
- Packs up really small and comes with a handy carry-bag
- For $26 you can't go wrong

Minus:
- A little bit short in the main jacket length - I like raincoats to at least cover my bum fully.
- Only comes in a dark, dark blue colour (actually more of a really dark grey). Olive green would've been nicer.

Fishing Shirt: I went for the sand/beige colour and stuck with the medium size and it's a perfect fit, feels good, looks cool

Plus:
- Nice quick-drying fabric, very similar to a far more expensive Shimano shirt I bought a few years ago.
- Velcro-fastening on the two front pockets.
- 'Extendable' collar, which sort of rolls-up to give better sun-protections for sides/back of neck.
- Well-made, nice fit, cool-looking colour.

Minus:
- Buttons on cuffs - I hate these on fishing shirts. Velcro is the only way to go.

Overall very happy with these two items. I'm going to go and get another shirt tomorrow!

Cheers,

Mike.
