It depends how many days it is released over. If it is a "pulse" the the river will be running high and fast for a couple of days.

Hmm didnt say if it was being released in pulse so i guess ill have to just take my chances, if its high then ill just stalk the banks drifting worms. Thats one good thing about it flowing high and fast, bigger trout move into slower pools along the bank.
Cheers for the reply

Suggest that you Google:-
"Goulburn river flow rate" and have a look at the various files attached, you need to find the river flow rate in Mega-litres - The lower the number the lower and slower the river flow.
When you find the flow rate at a particular location as well as the date of that flow rate, look for the river depth at that location and date.
Hope this helps

From my experience, 5000 megalitres is getting up there. The river will be flowing fast and highish. Still wadeable on the fringes and some of the usually shallower runs but the main current will be too strong and high. Fish will be holding close to the banks.
For me, 3000 megalitres is the best flow rate.

Thanks for the advice, it was high and fast and heaps of decent browns, every bit of back water had at least 1 brown, but not one fish was keen on any hard bodys, spinners or plastics.. took the wife and my sister and they had heaps of good chases but no strikes! Still a good day and glad to see so many nice looking browns! Best part was that the girls didn't loose and of my rapala's $$
