I have been doing some research on google maps and found a few creeks/rivers which may have some wild trout. Can you guys tell me if badger creek or watts river is good for trout. Or if you guys have a good wild trout spot with (browns and rainbows), could you please let me know so my kids can catch their first trout, we only release our fish so don't think we are going to harm the trout population. I know good trout handling skills as well.
Cheers guys

Agreed a trout farm is the place for a kid to get his first trout ... nothing worse than taking your kid fishing and gets bored after 30 minutes never wanting to go fishing again.

Re: wild trout
Have the kids caught fish before ???
If not, Plenty river with a park, so no fish they can go and play

Re: wild trout
I wouldnt take kids for their first trip to either of those spots (trout are there though). Agree with a trout farm or try a stocked lake with a park nearby. If doing that I'd suggest a running sinker rig, a leader or 30-45cm from the sinker/swivel, a hook the size of the nail on your pinky and powerbait/gulp bait (pink or orange "eggs" or bread coloured - since stocked trout would quickly become accustomed to a bread based diet if duck feeding is prominent at the lake).
