Re: boat insurance
Just thinking how do people go setting there amount for there boat motor and trailer so there not over insured.
For example
Motor 10k
Hull 12k
Trailer 3k
Its easy to find a new tailer so 3 to 4 k.
Is there a website that sells hulls so get a closer estimate?
Or just guess?
Never asked but just thouhht about it.
Does the hull cover the installation of your electronics?

Re: boat insurance
A new trailer 3 to 4K must be a small boat my trailer cost $14,000. I know how much I paid for my boat I upped the insured price when I bought the new trailer.
It's a difficult thing to estimate easy to work out a package price. But to break it down in 3 components hull, motor and trailer is difficult you will not get full replacement value if it's 10 years old.
I would sooner be over insured than under insured go agreed value

Re: boat insurance
As my boat is over 2 tonnes it req break away brakes which adds to the cost. I think these trailers are Chinese and I would be sceptical to their longevity. But at that price if you got 5 years out of it just buy another

Re: boat insurance
Not being an insurance expert I am unsure but would hazard a guess the boat if uneconomical to repair you would be paid out
