Boat ramp fee

Post by Hardyakka » Mon Aug 21, 2017 9:13 pm

Hello.

Getting ready to head out a fair bit all over PPB and WPB this upcoming snapper season and noticed that Hobsons Bay is charging $20 per casual boat launch (24 hour pass). Personally I think this is outrageous so decided to give them a call. Thankfully to save money you can buy a yearly pass for $305.... A you F***** kidding me.

Are all councils charging this sort of fee around metro Melbourne?
Does anyone know the bylaws relating to these boat ramp offences? Would really love to contest the legitimacy of them.

thats what I have....its pretty good condidering I use it twice a week when the snapper and kingdish are around.

I think the money should go to the coast guard though bot the council....cant see the council coming out to save you when your bobbing around in the ocean.

So what's the purpose of licensing and registration?

What does the councils do to improve boating facilities? Should be cheaper for what we sometimes get.
