Hi all,
Just bought this vest and tried it on this morning fishing trip and it works pretty good and keeps my body warm like in summer lol.

Re: 12v heated vest
probably but 12v will probably be the least of your worries if you go over the side in the kind of condition where a jacket like that is necessary.Kenle wrote:would you be electricuted if you fall into the drink while wearing it?
You could probably get a couple of merino wool thermals on special from Anaconda this time of year which would do the same job for less that half the price

I honestly prefer not to be a hero and brave the conditions and fish when its too cold..mingle wrote:A teaspoon, or two, of cement-powder in your daily cuppa, perhaps?
I rather fish comfortably or not fish cause I'm doing it for fun not for a feed most times. Taking fish home is was a bonus for me. And comfortable for me means not being cold in winter for a start
Do you see anyone walking around in sheepskin coats or similar these days????rb85 wrote:How did the early settlers survive.

No we don't need sheepskin coats but we still wear woolen clothing etc. Agree with mingle regarding a teaspoon of cement as products like this seem to be a little bit of a waste of cash when you can get a sheepskin coat to stay warm.purple5ive wrote:I honestly prefer not to be a hero and brave the conditions and fish when its too cold..mingle wrote:A teaspoon, or two, of cement-powder in your daily cuppa, perhaps?

Re: 12v heated vest
Interesting concept Froggie, but I fish from my kayak & personality I try keep things simple (was out this weekend night fishing). Just put on a few layers of the right gear & you're toasty & no worries about battery dying, shorting etc
