They help but are only of use with your hands in your pocket.

Oh man those warmers are fantastic, they sell them in Coles too. I bought some called 'Hot hands' or something and once you open them out of thier packet the chemicals react with the air somehow and boy they warm up real quick like magic, literaly how they do it realy blows my mind but its a few bux im more than happy to pay for something that warms up in your hands like a nice hot cup of coffee. Oh these things stays warm for up to 10hrs too

Haven't done it yet. Only just got my game ticket.

I remember one day in winter at Eildon sitting on a log at dawn for an hour trying to whistle up a fox. Never been colder haha.

I chase big snapper off the local piers during winter and have found wearing my 3mm wetsuit and booty's with gumboots and wet weather gear the warmest option for me......as long as you don't have to walk too far

But ski pants and jackets for me in winter.
Don't need layers either. That's good enough to keep you warm and dry.
Generally they are wind and waterproof. And a pair of thermals inside is all you need.

Only thing lacking for me is some waterproof nonslip shoes.
As above, I need to get a new bib & brace as, mine shrunk while I've been off work.
I wear an old pair of "moon" boots. Very warn & dry.
