Moonee Ponds creek?
Does anyone have any information on Moonee Ponds creek?
Is it fishable, does it even hold fish? Etc

The water there is really, really bad and the acidity of the water probs wouldnt be too good for your gear. Apparently there are lots of snakes there as well. But if your really keen eel's and carp are everywhere in 2017 so there is a chance that you could pull up an carp or two :thumbsup:ChrisD wrote:Does anyone have any information on Moonee Ponds creek?

There's heaps of huge bream in there, all the way up past the rail yards. I probably wouldn't go eating anything from there though. It's got a lot of flats and shallow structure, great fun with shallow diving and surface lures.

Re: Moonee Ponds creek?
That sucks.
I am moving right next to the creek in Strathmore and was dreaming of evening strolls with some redfin.
I shall have to check it out once I shift there!

There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Re: Moonee Ponds creek?
I am hoping someone can shed some light. I ride my bike to work each day on the bike path that runs along Moonee Ponds Creek. Over the last few weeks I have noticed some large fish swimming near the surface. I only noticed them because they are swimming so close to the surface that they leave a wake behind them. When I stopped to check them out was surprised to see that they were some kind of large fish.
Is what I am seeing Eels or Carp or something else? and why I am only seeing them now when I have been riding on the same path for 3 years?
