Calamari in Geelong
Had a quiet night at Geelong last night. It's the pier Bob Mc govan path 2,anyway it's where there is a steep downhill to get into the carpark and then the pier, not far from Saint helen. I took a pix the day after, sorry but a bad photo. I have never caught a squid from there before as i had never tried. Also a Leather jacket i had never caught there before. Caught just before hight tide about 9 pm. Three big ones were caught.

Good to see heaps of people turned up in the last few nights since my report and catching. Mario caught the most. 2-4 kg ,wow. The boat ramp was most productive.

I just get a mix of flower salt and pepper so to a cup of flower I add 3-4 tablespoons of fresh cracked pepper and 2-3 tablespoons of salt in a sandwich bag and two eggs beating in a bowl add the squid into the egg mix (add salt to taste with the egg) coat the squid and add the squid into the bag of flower mix and close it shake that will cover all the squid in a nice coating and you can either fry in butter on medium heat or in oil on high all up to your tastes I prefer butter comes out sweeter and softergregmaka wrote:That's a beauty,i love those dark colours.
